What count objects up to 10 means

You count each picture one by one and stop when you reach ten. This helps you answer picture questions in class work, exercises, and simple tests.

What you will practise

Count objects in a picture from 1 to 10.
Touch or point to each item as you count.
Find the total number after the last count.
Work with groups of fruits, animals, stars, and similar pictures.

Before you start

You should already know numbers from 1 to 10 in order. You should also be able to count small groups with care.

Answer: 7

Working: Count slowly: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. There are 7 mangoes.

Common mistakes to avoid

Counting the same picture twice. Move your finger along the pictures once only.
Skipping an object in the set. Check that every picture is included.
Stopping too early before the last item. Count all the way to the end.
Giving the last count as the total number. Say the last number and check it again.
