IELTS is an English proficiency test used for university admission, professional registration and migration. It is jointly delivered by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge, and it reports a band score rather than a pass or fail.
There are two versions. Academic is the one universities normally ask for; General Training is used for many migration and work routes. The Listening and Speaking parts are shared, while Reading and Writing differ between them.

Every skill begins on a SmartScore of 0. Nothing is assumed about what you already know, so the score reflects your work and nothing else.
A correct answer pushes the score up; a wrong one pulls it back. Harder questions move the score further, so guessing your way up is not possible.
A worked explanation appears after each question — right or wrong — so the score rises because your understanding rose, not because you memorised an answer key.
A SmartScore of 100 means the skill is mastered. Your dashboard shows which skills are done and which still need work, so revision time goes where it counts.
Band scores move slowly, which makes them a poor day-to-day feedback signal. SmartScore moves fast: it shows within one session whether your reading-inference technique is genuinely improving, long before a mock test would register the change.

No. There is no timed four-skills mock, no examiner-marked essay and no live speaking assessment here. This is targeted practice on the underlying skills, best used alongside full mock tests.
The skills lean Academic, since that is what most university applicants need. Reading technique, grammar and listening strategy apply to both versions, but General Training letter writing is not covered.
It can help with the parts that respond to technique — reading question types, essay structure, cohesion and grammatical accuracy. Speaking fluency, realistically, still needs conversation practice with another person.
