What the CSEC is

The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate is the main secondary school-leaving qualification across the English-speaking Caribbean, awarded by the Caribbean Examinations Council. Subjects are taken individually, and the profile of grades a candidate builds is what employers and sixth-form programmes read.

CSEC papers reward precision. Paper 1 punishes rushed multiple choice, Paper 2 punishes vague working, and the school-based assessment component rewards students who understood the method rather than the answer.

Our CSEC practice is deliberately focused: three subjects, taught as small skills, each with a core-topics set and a Paper 1 style question set. It is a targeted supplement to your syllabus work, not a full CSEC course.

How SmartScore works

1
Start at zero

Every skill begins on a SmartScore of 0. Nothing is assumed about what you already know, so the score reflects your work and nothing else.

2
Answer and adjust

A correct answer pushes the score up; a wrong one pulls it back. Harder questions move the score further, so guessing your way up is not possible.

3
Learn from every answer

A worked explanation appears after each question — right or wrong — so the score rises because your understanding rose, not because you memorised an answer key.

4
Reach 100 to master

A SmartScore of 100 means the skill is mastered. Your dashboard shows which skills are done and which still need work, so revision time goes where it counts.

CSEC grades hinge on consistency across a whole syllabus, so use SmartScore as a coverage map. Any core-topic skill still short of 100 is a topic that could appear on Paper 1 and cost you a grade band.

Frequently asked questions

Which CSEC subjects are covered?

Mathematics, English A and Integrated Science, together holding 18 skills and 128 questions. Those are the only CSEC subjects on the platform at present — we would rather say so than imply wider coverage.

Are these real CXC past papers?

No. Every question is original, written to match CSEC topics and Paper 1 style. Sets described as CSEC-style are our own questions built on the shape of the exam, not reproduced CXC material.

Is this enough on its own to prepare for CSEC?

Not on its own. Use it for topic drilling and rapid diagnosis alongside your syllabus, textbook and school-based assessment work. It is strongest at showing you where the gaps are.

Will more CSEC subjects be added?

The bank is extended over time and new subjects appear on the subject grid as they are added. Rather than promise dates, the counts on this page always show what genuinely exists today.
